I think thats because it never started. The guy pulls up next to you and you floor it, thats not a race. If someone walks next to me on the sidewalk and I start jogging, its not a race. I'm pretty sure he was too busy laughing his ass off at you to even nudge the gas pedal. Next time line up with him at a traffic light, give the engine a quick rev to 3000 rpm if he returns the rev, then its a race, or play tag at 30-35 (if he starts acting frisky, then line up, make eye contact and take off whenever you or he is ready. As for the hp ratings, yea Mazda admitted to their mistake, and were offering extended warrantees and cash back on all purchases I forgot how much it was, but I know they're not buying the cars back, no dealer or manufacturer would, once driven off the lot (unless purchasing it as a trade-in).
